• CROP Hunger Walk Date: Sunday, October 19th
• Walk Begins at 2:30 p.m. (See below information about registration & turning in your money.)
• Our Tailgate Lunch for sponsored walkers begins at 1:00 p.m. (See below)
• The 2008 CROP Walk begins at the NewBridge Bank Ball Park and ends at the Center City Park. The walk is 5k, approximately 3 miles.

Please read instructions below carefully.

• Pick up a sponsor/donation envelope and sign your name, phone number, and email address on the walker sign-in sheet. If you take more than one envelope, indicate the number of envelopes you take. (Sign up sheets are available in the Gathering Space and in the Fellowship Hall.)
   
• Youth walkers sign up with Jeff Peck. (There is a special information sheet for youth walkers.)
   
• Fill out your walker information at the top of the envelope and be sure that your envelope has “West Market Street UMC” on the line for Congregation.
   
• Get sponsors. Ask friends, family, co-workers…don’t be shy! Encourage sponsors to give you their donation at the time you ask…before the walk. Each walker is encouraged to raise $100 or more.
   
• NEW IN 2008! Use ONLINE GIVING! We have set up a West Market team page on the national CROP Walk secure website. Click here to reach our West Market online team page. To join the online team…just click on the “Join Team” link in the dark grey box that says “West Market Street United Methodist Church”. Then just follow the directions to sign up and create your own page. You can use the site to email friends, family, etc. to encourage them to sponsor you, and offer them the option of making a gift online through a secure website. You will be able to watch as sponsors make gifts, and our team page will also be updated to show the total amount raised online. Check it out!
   
• Checks that you collect should be made payable to CWS/CROP. Plan to return envelopes to West Market Street UMC recruiters with collected donations on the day of the walk.
   
• ALL CHECKS AND MONEY that you collect must be turned in to:
   
  • Mary Belle Gilbert or Beth Loseke – from adult/family walkers
  • Jeff Peck – from youth walkers

  The top sheet of your envelope torn off will be your registration sheet for the walk. You may turn in your envelope (including the top sheet) at our tailgate lunch. Mary Belle and Beth will remove the top sheet and turn in all of our individual registration sheets together as a group.
  
  ««Do not turn in your money at the NewBridge Bank Park registration area. Turn in your money only as indicated above.««
   

• Bring a dish to share and join other WMSUMC Walkers at 1:00 p.m. in the ECC Parking Lot for a tailgate lunch. (Rain location for lunch will be in the Fellowship Hall.) The Walk goes on rain or shine!
   
• CROP Walk Shirts are $ 3.00. Purchase one and wear it to promote the walk. Wear it the day of the walk.
   
• Bring canned food items to the walk for Greensboro Urban Ministry’s Food Bank.
