Disciple II

This is the “second study in the four-phase Disciple program and is prepared for those who are proclaims the transforming power of Scripture while teaching Bible study skills that take participants deeper into the Scripture.”

Sunday night 5:30 to 7:30 PM beginning with orientation January 4, 2009 in the Gathering Space.  Break for summer, resume in fall.  Participant book $33.  Contact Elizabeth Montgomery (275-4587-VM 16) or emontgomery@wmsumc.org for additional information.

The Grand Sweep

The Grand Sweep is a “365 day walk from Genesis through Revelation--read through the Bible in one year.”  Will meet every other Sunday from 6:00 to 7:30 PM beginning January 4, 2009, in room 302-D.  Participant books $24.  Contact Tom Gross (855-7282) for additional information.

Invitation to Psalms

Invitation to Psalms, "a short-term Disciple study, is an in-depth study that is related to the practice of prayer.”  This 10-week study meets Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from 7 to 8:15 PM for orientation in room 302-D.  Study ends March 16.  Participant book $9.  Contact Gloria Covington (852-3130) or goc@bellsouth.net for additional information.

Book Study - Sisters in the Spirit

Sisters in the Spirit is a women's book study group that meets in the Gathering Space of the Church on Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 AM.  Participants may join at any time.  Presently the group is reading Esther—reflections from an unexpected life by Jennifer Spivey.  Participant book $10.  Contact Mary Craven (292-3417) for additional information.

Christian Believer

Christian Believer is a “thirty-week study of the classical doctrines of the Christian faith that aims to present, explain, and interpret Christian doctrine as the basic teaching of the church to the end that informed believing leads to committed discipleship.”  Monday night 6:30 to 8:30 PM beginning January 12, 2009, in room 302-D.  Break for summer, resume in fall.  Participant books $30 and $15.  Contact Jane Brannock (275-4587-VM 13) or jbrannock@wmsumc.org for additional information.

Daniel—Beth Moore Study

The “second half of the Daniel study (Daniel 7-12) turns to explore the prophecies of Daniel. It deals in-depth with the historical details, predictions, and fulfillments detailing history from the time of Daniel, through the inter-biblical period, the time of Christ, and on to the second coming of Christ.”

Older Adult Home Bible Study  (Spring 2009)

This study provides an opportunity to study and discuss a current book, weaving in truth from scripture about faith and life issues.  Meets Wednesday afternoons 2:00 to 3:30 for six weeks, February 25 to April 1, in a home.  Contact Charles and Mary Belle Gilbert (288-4664) for additional information.

The Alpha Course by Nicky Gumbel

“The Alpha Course enables the seeker, novice, or even the seasoned Christian to explore the validity and relevance of Christianity in an informal, friendly environment that allows for plenty of discussion.”  Thursday night 6:00 to 8:15 PM beginning February 26, 2009 in the Gathering Space.  Ends May 21.  Participant book $4.  Contact Mary Ann James (668-3144) or jamesma3527@gmail.com for additional information.

Wednesday Church Night (September - April) A regular weekly gathering where dinner is served and classes are offered for spiritual growth and fellowship is open to all.  Dinner reservations should be made  in the church office by the Monday prior to each Wednesday.   For more information, go to the Wednesday Church Night page of our website.

United Methodist Women - Our United Methodist Women have seven small groups called circles that provide opportunities for study, fellowship & caring community.  United Methodist Women are women organized for mission who support mission around the world, making a difference in the lives of women, children and youth.

Servant Leadership School of Greensboro
This ministry, open to the community and housed at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, seeks to help persons grow in their understanding of the follower of Jesus as one who is a servant leader.  For more information on classes, go to  www.servantleadergreensboro.org .
