At West Market Street United Methodist Church, we believe all children are welcome as a vital part of the body of Christ. We celebrate and work toward:
supporting families so they can nurture faith-filled homes and holy rhythms,
offering hands-on ways for children to encounter God and participate fully in the life of the congregation (as they are present-day disciples, not just future ones!),
providing opportunities for children of all ages to serve others, instilling within them a love of God and neighbor, and
fostering vibrant intergenerational relationships!
We’d love for you to join us for family-friendly worship at 9 & 11am on the PRAYground, faith formation groups at 10am, nursery care, West Market Kids SERVE, Children’s Choir, and special seasonal events, all designed to provide discipleship, fellowship, and service for children and families.

Prayground
For those with wiggles and happy feet, our Prayground is an engaging place for families to worship together on Sunday mornings at both services. The space is supplied with a rug, quiet toys, books, puzzles, drawing materials, and other tangible ways for children to spend time with God.

nursery
Our paid nursery staff offer experienced, warm Christian care each Sunday for children birth through age 4 in Room 224 during both the 9:00 and 11:00 worship services. At 10:00 our littlest ones (age 0-3) enjoy Bible stories and activities in Room 224.

Faith Formation
On Sunday mornings at 10:00am, we seek to connect our lives in meaningful and exciting ways through Bible stories, art, games, movement, prayer, and more! Ages 0-3 meet in the nursery (Room 224), PreK-2nd grade meets in Room 304D and 3rd-5th grade meets in Room 304B.

Children's Choir
Enjoy singing and making music with Miss Dreama in the Bell Room on the 3rd floor. All preschool-5th graders are invited. Note: This group meets most Sundays from 5:00-5:45pm. Please see Fall Children & Family Ministries calendar for details.

holy reset
Pace yourself each month with a Sabbath Gathering for All Ages and join us as we spend time with God and one another to reset and be nourished in mind, body, and spirit. Dates vary. A simple supper is provided.

Kids serve
Kids ages 4 through 5th grade put faith into action as we serve our neighbors and build faith-filled friendships! Join us as we enjoy mission projects and sharing God’s love! Our SERVE events for the fall are 9/10, 9/24, 10/1, 10/22, 11/5, 11/19, 12/3

Volunteers
Interested in helping serve in our Children & Family Ministries? We have a number of serving opportunities available. All volunteers are asked to complete our Safe Sanctuaries training.
