During our 9:00am service, the band, Rising West has a very upbeat vibe to welcome you to worship!

We are in the heart of downtown Greensboro just a block from the iconic Lincoln Financial building. This gives us a unique window on the community which we serve—the urban dwellers as well as those who come from surroundings suburbs and communities. We offer a wide variety of experiences from local and global mission work, excellent childcare, spiritual growth and artistic development for any and all who attend.

The photo shown is from our rooftop that has been recently renovated to allow our youth a space to play outdoors when the weather permits. It’s another way we’re providing ministry to all ages.

DO YOU HAVE QUESTIONS?

It’s always hard to be the new person especially at a church, but we want your visit to be hassle free. We’ve posted a few common questions that may help. And if you still have questions, you can submit them at the bottom of this page and we’ll respond as quickly as possible.

WHERE DO I GO?

That depends on what time you’re visiting. We have one traditional style service at 11:00am in our sanctuary with the main entrance located on West Market St. Greeters will be at the front to welcome you and answer any questions. If you’re coming to the 9:00am Modern Worship @ the Corner Fellowship Hall, the entrance is at the corner of Friendly Ave. and John Wesley Way. There will also be greeters to guide you. And between the 9:00 and 11:00am services, we have our small groups (Faith and Fellowship hour) for all ages. Classes are located in the education building on the 3rd or 4th floors. See our map for more guidance.

We also offer on-line worship via Facebook.com/wmsumc (9:00am Modern service and 11:00am Traditional Service).

WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN?

Just as Jesus taught, we value children so much! We offer many exciting opportunities for children to learn about Christ and to experience His love. At all of our services, kids are welcome to stay with you throughout. We understand they may wiggle and squirm; that’s normal. It doesn’t bother us! But, if you would like for your children to have a church experience that is more age appropriate, we have several options.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT IN WORSHIP?

Worship comes in many forms and we try to provide meaningful experiences whether you’re a first time church visitor or you’ve been attending all your life and are just looking for a new church home.

Our more traditional service (11:00am) use a liturgy that is easy to follow and music that should be familiar. The setting is more formal and ceremonial in nature but still has a feeling of community.

Our modern worship service (9:00am) is an intimate, casual setting; one in which worshipers often arrive early to get a cup of coffee and chat before gathering together in worship. The music comes from a more contemporary interpretation of worship songs.

For both service styles, the sermon is preached by the same minister and brings the same message.

Parking

While parking around the church is metered on weekdays until 6pm, it is free on weekends and holidays. There is also free parking in the parking lot located at our Early Childhood Center on the corner of Eugene Street and Friendly Avenue. Handicapped parking is available (with handicap sticker/tag) along John Wesley Way, between West Market Street and Friendly Avenue. On Sunday mornings, additional parking is available in the underground parking garage, across from the church on West Market Street.

PARKMOBILE

The City of Greensboro uses a service called ParkMobile to give drivers an easy way to pay for and keep track of their metered parking throughout the city. There is a handy mobile app that can be linked to a credit card so you can pay without having to run back out to your meter if you're running longer than expected. Visit their website or download the free app on your mobile device for a little peace of mind if you have to use a metered space.
